Privacy Policy for DocuHub: PDF, Word, Excel

DocuHub ("we," "our," or "us") operates the DocuHub: PDF, Word, Excel mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience while using our App.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to protect your privacy in compliance with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement and Google Play Console policies.

1. Primary Principle: Offline-First Processing

DocuHub: PDF, Word, Excel is designed as an offline-first utility app.

Local Processing: Almost all document manipulations, spreadsheet operations (merging, cleaning, converting), PDF edits (cropping, locking, merging), image processing (crop, resize, EXIF cleaning), and signature stamping are performed directly on your device.

No Cloud Storage of Files: We do not upload your documents, images, text, or spreadsheets to remote servers for storage or processing, except for explicit external web-page rendering requests initiated by you.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

A. File Access & Storage Permissions

To allow you to pick, modify, and save documents, the App requires read and write access to your device's external storage (or media library).

Usage: Used solely to load target files (PDFs, Images, Excel Sheets, CSV files) and to write the processed output documents to your device's storage directory.

Security: These files remain local to your device. We do not access, read, or distribute your files for any other purpose.

B. Device Camera Permissions

If you use the OCR (Text Scanner) feature to snap photos of physical documents, the App requests access to your device's camera.

Usage: Used only to capture images within the App for instantaneous text recognition. Images are not stored on remote servers or shared with third parties.

C. Microphone & Speech Recognition Permissions

For the Voice Typing (Speech-to-Text) feature, the App requests microphone permissions.

Usage: Used strictly to record your voice input and convert it into text using your device's built-in speech recognition API. Audio recordings are processed in real-time and are never stored or transmitted to our servers.

D. Offline OCR & Machine Learning (Google ML Kit)

When using the OCR Text Translator or Scanner:

The text recognition is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit APIs.

Neither the source image nor the extracted text is uploaded to DocuHub or shared with external parties.

E. Webpage-to-PDF Rendering (HTML-to-PDF Converter)

When you request to convert a URL/webpage into a PDF:

The App sends the URL to our self-hosted rendering server to parse the HTML and download CSS assets in order to compile the document.

No Personal Data: No personal identifier, device data, or cookies are sent to the server.

Temporary Processing: The server only retrieves the webpage content to generate the PDF bytes, sends the bytes back to your device, and deletes all temporary session files immediately.

3. Third-Party Services

We may utilize standard third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:

Google Play Services: Used for app updates, authentication, or standard core platform libraries.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

DocuHub: PDF, Word, Excel does not use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, or persistent user identifiers to track your activity across the web or build user profiles.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can perform necessary deletion actions.

6. Security of Your Data

We value your trust in using our App. Since the App processes your files locally on your own device, the security of your documents depends on your device's security settings. We recommend using device encryption, passwords/biometrics, and keeping your operating system up to date.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
